Wow! What a great NIWeek! The whole JKI team had a great time at NIWeek 2010, and it was completely worth all the sleep we lost running hard to get ready for it. We hope all our friends around the LabVIEW Ecosystem enjoyed it as much as we did, and for those who weren’t able to make it to Austin, we’re sorry we missed you!

NIWeek 2010 was a big event for JKI. It was probably our biggest NIWeek ever:
- We released VIPM 2010, a huge update to VI Package Manager that dramatically expands its scope of LabVIEW add-ons VIPM can create. It also makes VI Package building available in VIPM Community Edition so you can build and share your own LabVIEW add-ons for free.
- We announced that VIPM 2010 is now the official download vehicle of the LabVIEW Tools Network.
- We launched our new web site and logo (and got some sweet new polo shirts).
- JKI Engineer Justin’s Popcorn Tweets demo was the hit of the LabVIEW Community Zone.
- JKI Engineers led or participated in six different technical or hands-on sessions.
- JKI Founder Jim Kring accepted the LabVIEW “Add-on of the Year” award on behalf of OpenG.

You wouldn’t have the audio or video for the “State Machine vs. State Machine” available by any chance?
Thanks!
Hey Ron. No, there isn’t any audio/video of that presentation. That sure would be nice, but it takes so much effort and coordination to pull off.
Hello Jim,
I understand. I was just wanted get a better understanding presentation of the two state machine architectures.
Thanks,
Ron
Hi Jim,
Could you put the power supply example in available for download?
Thanks
Helcio
Another request for the power supply example Justin used in the State Machine vs. State Machine presentation.
Hi Brian: Justin is out of the office, but I’ll ping him and hopefully he’ll respond soon. Thanks for reminding us
Thanks Jim!
Everyone,
Apologies for the delay in posting here. As Jim mentioned, I’ve been out of the office lately having a baby (spawning a new process??).
Unfortunately, the power supply example from my State Machine vs. State Machine presentation is not available in source code form. The screenshots that I used for the slides were from some incomplete code that I just hacked together for the presentation itself.
There are lots of factors that go into deciding whether to release a design pattern or template to the community. In this case, it’s clear that there’s interest in seeing a working example of this pattern, so maybe in the future it will see the light of day. Sorry I don’t have a better answer than that!
