The problem your customers are seeing is due to a bug in the installer for the LabVIEW Desktop Execution Trace Toolkit as mentioned in this NI Knowledgebase entry:

It isn&#039;t happening to everyone because not everyone is installing the toolkit.  The installer on the LabVIEW 8.6.1 Platform DVD and the Q1 Developer Suite DVD has the bug.  We have posted a fixed version to the web for people who download it.  And that fixed version will be in the Q2 Developer Suite DVD and obviously we are going to have the fix in the next LabVIEW Platform Release.
